Would you like to take a closer look at the Neston Neighbourhood Plan?

The Town Council wishes to appoint suitable volunteers to fill three vacant seats on the Neston Neighbourhood Plan Monitoring Group which advises and assists with medium to long-term plans for housing, employment, transport, outdoor leisure, heritage and environment.

The Neston Neighbourhood Plan is defined in statute and provides an excellent platform from which to help shape the future. In addition, the Neston Neighbourhood Monitoring Group may appoint another three people deemed to have relevant specialist knowledge and skills.

The Parish of Neston includes the ward of Neston, Little Neston, Ness, Parkgate and Riverside. It has a population of about 15,000 with another 5,000 in the surrounding area, and is one of the key service centres in the Borough of Cheshire West and Cheshire.

Volunteers are sought for both categories.

People bringing a care for the future and a knowledge of the area who take the broader view and can think outside the box would enjoy the Group.  Experience will count as will a background in, for example, community action, strategic housing and economic planning and development, the built environment, business, employment, tourism, leisure, the rural environment and heritage as well as transport.

The Group meets about 5 times a year at 6.00 pm but most of the work takes place between times as Members research, consult and report on particular interests.

For an informal discussion meeting can arranged with some of its founder members of the Group.  Alternatively you can request that your details are sent for this specific purpose, to the Group via email to council@nestontowncouncil.org.uk or by completing a consent form at the Town Council offices.  Please submit by your interest by 30th November 2018.
