The Neston area is served by a railway line and a network of buses.
Timetables are at Neston Town Hall and Neston Library. Rail timetables normally change (slightly) every six months: bus timetables change at unpredictable times.
Neston station lies on the Wrexham to Bidston railway line, The Borderlands Line, run by Arriva Trains Wales. Connections at Shotton are for north Wales, and at Wrexham for Chester, Shrewsbury, and Birmingham: Bidston links with West Kirby and Liverpool. Trains run mostly once an hour, less often in evenings and on Sundays. Live train information. Wrexham – Bidston Rail Users Association (email) represents users of the line.
Arriva Trains Wales handed over on 14th October 2018 to French-Spanish firm KeolisAmey, under the banner of Transport for Wales Rail Services (TfW).
In November 2018 many trains are cancelled, and replaced by buses from Ladies Walk. Check train times.
From August 2018 Welsh Water are replacing storm drains, so roads are closed, and buses diverted. Please check notices on bus stops.
Avon Buses which provided the service between Chester, Neston, Heswall, Arrowe Park Hospital, West Kirby and Moreton ceased operating on 5 October 2018. The hourly service is operated from 8 October by Stagecoach.

No. 487 buses run from Ness Gardens, Little Neston, Neston Centre to Birkenhead and Liverpool Whitechapel every half hour during the day. In the evenings buses go to and from Little Neston (Royal Oak) every hour . On Sundays buses are every two hours from Parkgate all day and every two hours from Ness Gardens daytime only.

No. 272 bus runs less than hourly between Ellesmere Port, Willaston, Hooton Station and Neston, not evenings or weekends.

No. 357 runs between Arrowe Park Road via Heswall bus station and Neston High School
No. 358 runs between Eastham Rake via Thornton Hough and Neston High School.
If you are aged 80+ or have mobility difficulties, you can use PlusBus, in Neston area and around Chester and Ellesmere Port, Monday to Friday 9 a.m. – 11 p.m., and Sundays 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Phone 0151 357 4420 Monday – Friday 9 – 4.30, or email, one to seven days in advance. Cost £3 single, £5 return. The driver can help carry your shopping on and off the bus.
