Mayors Blog July 2020

This year the charities I have chosen to help are Mathews Monk, a truly local charity with a long history in Neston. Here is a link to information about the charity: https://www.neston.org.uk/mathews-and-monk-charity/

The second charity is a well-known nation charity, Age UK. Below is a link to their website: https://www.ageuk.org.uk/

To raise money for these charities I have been busy making washable, re-usable facemasks for sale at a minimum donation of £4.00 each. The pictures below are not wanted posters featuring Neston’s Mayor but a selection of the facemasks made so far.

If you would like to buy one (or more) of the facemasks please call in to the Community Office, in the far corner of the top floor of Sainsbury’s car park, during office hours after 31st July.  Please note that due to covid restrictions we will not be able to provide any change, so please have your intended donation ready to post into the collection box. You will then be able to choose your facemask. Patterns will vary depending on the material I have available to make them.

Our Market Officer, Frank Kinsella, Has decided to retire. He is a well-known face to anyone who is a trader or customer at our ever-popular Friday market. Frank has been working for Neston Town Council for many years. We all wish him a long, happy and healthy retirement.

Well, in anticipation of orders for facemasks flooding in I am plugging in my sewing machine and sharpening my scissors.
