LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) exams are respected
world wide and are Ofqual accredited. Children learn to work independently to achieve success. The set pieces selected by LAMDA are fun and relevant to promoting creativity in
children. All the work supports literacy and a wider appreciation of reading.
Little Actors has its own venue referred to as Neston Theatre Arts based on Brook Street car park. The venue is equipped to create a black box studio theatre and rehearsal and dance studios. Volunteers would be most welcome to help behind the scenes so if you don’t fancy acting then come and help with costumes, props, sound, lighting, producing and fundraising etc. We look forward to welcoming new members.
Little Actors would like to thank the funding bodies this year who help support the access for all ethos – Neston Town Council, Brightlife Cheshire, The John Thaw Foundation, Police Mutual Fund, Cllr Gittins and Cllr Williams.
Press Release January 2019
Little Actors Theatre Company has had a Neston base for 13 years. It has developed into a registered company and is a Registered Charity.
We believe that access to the arts should be a right for every child and not just reserved for those financially secure enough to afford it. As a charity we can fund raise so we can offer
scholarships to children from low income families. All of our work is firmly rooted in Neston as we perform at most community events over the year as well as staging our own shows. Uniquely, we are a professional theatre company (ITC member) in a rural location.
A few more facts about Little Actors:
Founder Samantha Giblin lives in Parkgate as does regular director Natasha Symms.
Natasha Symms was a regular on Hollyoaks. She co-directs InterACT Youth Theatre with Samantha and teaches at Cheshire West College. She still auditions for and takes TV work. Remember the controversial ASDA ad about Mums at Christmas? – that was Natasha.
Little Actors now has its own venue in Brook Street (the old job centre).
LAMDA exams are offered and we have a 100% success rate at Merit and Distinction levels – all useful for building speaking confidence and for accruing UCAS points.
Over the last 5 years Little Actors has won many awards. Most recently the Cheshire West Arts Network award for Best Performing Arts achievement for our InterACT Youth Theatre’s 2017 show ‘The Snow Dragons’. In 2017 we won the award for best children’s and youth arts provider.
We are a friendly and inclusive community theatre offering affordable access to theatre workshops. All of our workshops facilitators are professional actors and members of British Actors Equity. Usually you’d have to travel to a city to access these types of services.
We work regularly in partnership with community organisations such as the CH64 Events Group, Neston Town Council, Neston Village Fair, Parkgate Carnival, Parkgate Fest. We are now working with Neston Parish Church as we make an angel for their festival on the 27th January.
We offer a free trial and have places available for the Spring term.
Oop in to say hello and we’ll show you round our facilities.
We rely on and value our volunteers to keep us going. We also offer Time Credits so we can say thank you.
