Friends of Stanney Annual Report 2012
11 December 2013 Cheshire West and Chester Council announce improvements for Stanney Fields Park.
Starting on January 3 and lasting for about six weeks, works include the installation of three new ramps and a grind rail for thewheels park. The Dell area will see the crazy-paving pathway replaced with spray and chip croxten path and a new pedestrian bridge over the brook. Other improvements include seating, bins, picnic tables and soft landscaping.
The £75,000 project has been funded by Cheshire West and Chester Council and The Veolia Environmental Trust who awarded a grant of £25,000 through the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF). Landfill Tax is charged on waste sent to landfill: 6.8% of landfill tax supports projects in the vicinity through the LCF.
