The Manor Gatehouse Club is a friendly social organisation which was formed in 1983. There are about 300 members who are all retired from full time employment.
The Club is entirely self supporting and is run by its members for its members. It is not affiliated to any other body.
Most indoor meetings are held in an afternoon, in the Gladstone Village Hall, Burton. 'General Interest' meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month.
There are sub-groups interested in Birdwatching, Gardening, Music, History, Painting, Rambling and "Arm Chair" Travel. The groups organise their own lectures, field excursions, walks and holidays. These special interest groups are open to all club members, and new groups can be formed if required.
All members are expected to help in the running the Club, within their limits; this may just be the moving of chairs or making tea!
New members are always very welcome.
