Neston and District Art Society

The Neston and District Art Society was founded on October 18th 1982 by Horace Perry.

It met at Neston Methodist church, Neston Library and the United Reformed Church, before increased membership necessitated largerneston_and_district_art_society_logopremises and so, from September 23rd 1985, the room in the Town Hall became the new venue for fortnightly meetings.

Club nights consist of monthly demonstrations, talks and slide shows by experienced or professional guest artists and these are followed up by practical sessions when members themselves, can try out new media and techniques.

There is an annual 3 day Exhibition each Spring. This is open to non-members as well as members. The following awards are given annually at the exhibition, by a guest judge:-

- The Somers Dolphin Trophy is the principle award and is presented for work of particular merit.

- The Perry Memorial Awards are presented to encourage amateur artists in 5 different categories.
